Tell me more about Qigong!

* The aim of Qigong is to improve and increase the flow of the Qi/Chi within us. Qi/Chi is our vital life force energy. Qigong can improve the mind-body connection, so it can have both psychological and physical benefits. It also can help us improve our balance, stability, and coordination, and leave us feeling alert and relaxed at the same time.

* Qigong is excellent for anyone who wants to increase and maintain their daily activity level. It is accessible to people with disabilities as it meets us where we are at to have the best fitness experience. Qigong can be practiced anywhere and at any time and we do not need any specialized equipment, just our own bodies!

* Each class will have warm-up and cool-down segments, and also new themed moves each month.

* Learn more about Qigong on the instructor’s FB/IG social media accounts @returntocenterwellness and website www.returntocenterwellness.com

Hi, I’m Anne Silvestri, and I am the owner of Return to Center Wellness. I am a Certified Group Fitness Instructor and I specialize in teaching Qigong. I am passionate about sharing my unique perspective on the benefits that mindful movement can bring into our lives.
I struggled with chronic physical and mental health conditions for most of my adult life. I entered a chronic pain management program in 2021 where I started to study Qigong that was taught by a physical therapist. I learned that Qigong has physical and emotional benefits in addition to improving our energy flow. Moving slowly and with intention can calm the nervous system and teach the body that movement is safe. Participating in the program helped me find the health and wellness to be able to teach my form of adaptive fitness.
I approach Qigong from fitness and wellness perspectives. In each class, I will break down each move into small pieces, where we can explore what feels good in our body. Then we will put the pieces together into one move that is personalized for each of us. My Qigong classes provide a great foundation on how to adapt a move that you can use in your other Qigong practices.
I believe that we never stop learning and I value everything my students teach me! I strive to have the classes I provide benefit our spirits as much as our bodies and minds. Let’s get moving together!
